How did Octavius Bear Arrive?

A funny thing happened on the way to creating the Octavius Bear stories. He originated as a treatise on Winnie the Pooh. I entered into a collaboraton with an English author John Tyerman Williams who had published several analytical books on Pooh Bear with permission from A.A Milne's estate. For example, Pooh as a philosopher. We were going to produce a volume on Pooh as a business executive - a CEO. Characteristics I experienced as president of a Deloitte subsidiary.
HOWEVER, while we prepared to develop the new tome, the Milne estate sold the Pooh rights to Disney. They are not just the "happiest place", they are the most litigious place. We were told to cease and desist our efforts by the lawyers of the Magic Kingdom and the book went into the scrap heap. But I was hooked on the idea of a bear as a business executive. Enter Octavius Bear- nine foot tall Kodiak, gazillionaire entrepreneur, peerless detective and quirky ursine personality along with his team and family of anthropomorphic animals - the Octavians. Twenty one books later, Tavi in his alternate universes, reflects some of the essence of Pooh but don't tell Disney.
Where did the name Octavius Bear come from? It's a variant on that other oversized detective - Nero Wolfe. I hope you enjoy them.
